Industrial First can do it all!

Specializing in single-source service

Industrial First Inc. is a specialty construction service organization founded in 1936 that offers a diversified number of traditionally independent construction services from a single source. Thus, it offers customers round-the-clock delivery of a wide variety of services for the management and supply of labor, equipment and materials. Services include roofing, application of waterproofing and protective coatings, architectural and industrial sheet metal fabrication and installation, steel erection and light steel fabrication.

Industrial First also provides heavy and specialized in-plant rigging and erection services, while it also performs millwork and boilermaker work and furnishes or erects metal siding, metal decking, precast and natural stone. Other services: rebar replacement and erection of tower cranes and personnel and material hoists, in addition to rigging and certified high pressure welding of heavy fabrications and specialized equipment.

Industrial First is headquartered in Cleveland, with a Columbus branch to serve the growing Central Ohio region. The trades employed to handle this wide variety of work include ironworkers, millwrights, boilermakers, roofers, sheet metal workers, operating engineers and teamsters.

Short-term or long-haul, Industrial First is there

Industrial First offers a wealth of special services that will meet customers needs, from a roof asset management program that serves long-term needs to an emergency hotline that serves immediately. Here they are:

Roof Asset Management Program: This focuses on a roof as a financial asset of an organization, helping it to save money and conserve cash by extending the life of its roof. This can be done by more timely maintenance and more efficient use of maintenance dollars as well as by sharing the cost of maintenance with suppliers whose guarantees remain in force. The program provides managers with better tools to control the cashflow for maintenance and capital expenditures. It uses a database information system that collects necessary information on every roof included in the program on an ongoing basis and then organizes and presents data in reports necessary to the process of roof management.

Emergency Hotline: Industrial First maintains a 24-hour emergency hotline to help customers with unforeseen problems at 216-861-8667. The hotline uses the latest in wireless and paging technology to connect users to the authoritative help they need.

Safety first

But to assure both right-now security and down-the-road protection, Industrial First offers a simple safety philosophy: Because the firm believes that accidents and injuries are preventable, it knows that every operation can be performed safely and that no job is so important that workers cannot take the time to build safety into the tasks, as this ultimately makes each task more orderly and efficient. All personnel, from officers and managers to employees, must accept responsibility for preventing accidents and injuries. Steps to this include adherence to the safety philosophy; a safety handbook; a comprehensive training program; job safety meetings on each site at least monthly; Tool Box safety meetings on a weekly basis; use of required safety equipment, kept in good working condition and meeting code requirements, and hard hats; yearly first aid training, procedures to follow in case of accident; and fire watches when welding or burning operations are in progress. bxm
